We can fight signs of ageing from a nutritional approach but can we fight Psychological ageing?
Aging is a natural, physiological process and it is both ways-intrinsic as well and extrinsic, physical as well as mental. There is a strong need to focus on both in order to gain the deep knowhow of helping each process.
Scientific findings now suggest that nutrition may be able to turn back the clock ticking. And the science clearly shows that nutrition can slow the rate of biological aging. While DNA is under a constant free radical attack, in some of the healthy individuals, it has been noted that due to the presence of an adequate antioxidant defence system, the damage they face is much less even at the cellular level the only reason being they are fuelled by nutritionally rich foods and supplements. Many nutrients help protect and enhance our DNA’s repair capacity. A lack of antioxidants leads to increased free radical damage and more risk for accelerated or premature ageing. But there is also a very important element called “Food for thoughtâ€. Do we nourish our souls with adequate life force and energetic thoughts? An energetic thought does not mean thinking positive or optimistic. It means much more beyond.
DNA and various genetically coded systems are set up in uterus of the mother, in the first few weeks of life itself, and then they are further having some variations in them with time. Thereafter, they are influenced by a variety of factors, like emotions, Intellect, life situations as well as nutrition while in the developmental phases of life. The human body has a profound ability to maintain and repair healthy cells on day to day basis, provided it has the building blocks to work with which comes from eating healthy and thinking healthier with all nutritionally balanced food for mind, body and soul.
For example: For Skin, hair, and nail beauty, there are several natural substances that optimize skin regeneration or repair and support sub-dermal structures. Evidence-based ingredients such as: olive leaf herb,Ginko,Amla,Turmeric, antioxidants, like Lycopene and resveratrol, hyaluronic acid, MSM, and Aloe-Vera – all these are the building blocks the process of anti-ageing physically. The most important is the intake of clean and sufficient amount of water, per day, 1.5 to 2.0 litres minimum is a must in order to make anything work. Now what about our “soul food
Growing older is natural process. Learning to embrace the beauty of this journey will give you strength and grace. Most people wake up and immediately enter this “On†mode and very often stay that way until they sleep and still it is not the “off†mode. Mind is still very much active while sleeping. This means the adrenals are working overtime; the body never has time to replenish its energy and this causes accelerated ageing, illness and emotional pain which, over a period of time is reflected on the face. Some people find it easier to call this process in one word named “stressâ€
Do not forget to Nourish the Mind, I love the quote “A small mind discusses people, an average mind discusses events, a great mind discusses ideas.†We are conscious of what we feed our physical bodies but we tend to forget the nutritious food for mind.
Namaste and I will connect again soon with my next blog.
